MCK Mining Corp. Encouraged by Initial Results From
Chepica Phase 1 Drill Program

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - March 8, 2005) - MCK Mining Corp. (TSX
VENTURE:MMC) ("MCK") is pleased to report on progress at its Phase 1
Exploration Program of the Chepica gold copper prospect located 25 km
west of Talca, Chile.

Diamond drilling began in late January and as of the end of February six
(6) holes totalling 760.9 metres of a planned 1,000 metres had been
completed. Five (5) of the holes intersected the Vetarron quartz vein at
depths ranging from 50 metres to 100 metres below surface corresponding
to elevations between 250 metres and 325 metres above sea level. One (1)
hole CH-04 was drilled across Cerro Chepica, a zone of multiple small
veins hosted in a brecciated host felsic volcanic rock at elevations
between 300 metres and 400 metres.

The Vetarron vein dips 65 degrees to the north-east and consists of an
upper and lower quartz vein separated by host felsic or andesitic tuffs.
Assays and intersections for the first three holes are encouraging given
that these are the first holes ever drilled on the property. Copper and
gold grades are lower but lead and zinc grades are higher than have been
previously sampled in the adits that follow the Chepica 1 and 2 veins.
These two veins are located to the east/north-east of the Vetarron vein
and are at lower elevations in the mineralization generating system.

These intersections and assay results combined with the improved
understanding of the host geological environment justify continued
exploration efforts. MCK expects that the field stage of the program
will be completed by mid-March with complete assay results of all drill
holes by mid-April.

Drill samples are stored on site in a locked and guarded facility.
Sampled sections of drill core are split by diamond saw with half of the
core sent to ACME Laboratories in Santiago, Chile, an independent ISO
certified analytical laboratory. ACME prepares and assays the samples
using appropriate replicate and analytical standards to ensure
high-quality assurance and control. Gold assays are by standard fire
assay methods while copper, lead, zinc, and silver are assayed using
standard atomic absorption methods.

Simultaneously with the Chepica Phase 1 Program, prospecting on the
regional Cristobal and El Peumo exploration concessions has identified
several new targets for follow up trenching, geochemical and geophysical
surveys. This 107 square kilometre regional package stretches 20 km by 5
km in a south-west direction surrounding the core 490 hectare Chepica
mining concession.
