McKesson Celebrates Accelerated Go-Live at Clinton Memorial Hospital

Company's Strategy to Implement Related Groups of Products Simultaneously Accelerates Customer's Time to Value

ATLANTA, GA -- (MARKET WIRE) -- December 5, 2006 -- McKesson today announced that Wilmington, Ohio-based Clinton Memorial Hospital Regional Health System (CMH) recently went live on 22 McKesson clinical, revenue cycle and resource management solutions just 12 months after contract signing. The successful implementation places next-generation McKesson technology in the hands of medical staff throughout CMH's delivery system -- from the emergency room to the pharmacy to the radiology department. Nurses and other members of the care team chart patient information electronically and physicians now have anytime, anywhere access to the hospital's technology using McKesson's market-leading physician portal. CMH also implemented McKesson's Series 2000™ hospital information system to help manage administrative and financial operations.

CMH utilized McKesson's "Solution Suite" approach to accelerate the implementation and time to value. The Solution Suite approach groups related products with proven clinical content to address an organizational initiative, such as medication safety or enterprise resource planning, to achieve significant reductions in required implementation resources and time. CMH is one of several customers that have recently gone live on 20 or more McKesson applications simultaneously by using this implementation approach.

"We chose this approach because of its lower cost and the promise of a significantly reduced implementation time frame," said Dave Slabodnick, director, information technology, and chief information officer, CMH Regional Health System. "What normally would have taken us three to four years to implement was implemented in 12 months, and CMH is poised to increase operational efficiencies almost immediately."

CMH recently completed a five-year, $50 million building and renovation project. Its technology initiative is designed to further transform its ability to deliver safer, efficient and high-quality medical care to its community. In combination, the new technology will create a more integrated, paperless and wireless environment. It also will greatly enhance caregivers' ability to administer patient care through instant access to medical information, more informed decision-making, quicker turnaround time and diagnostic quality.

CMH's implementation milestone underscores McKesson's ongoing commitment to world-class customer service, from implementation of products to daily support. In the Clinical-Financial ERP Study published by KLAS Enterprises, LLC in July 2006, McKesson, based on its own research, received the highest overall score for clinical implementations among technology vendors rated in the study, outperforming other IT companies in nine out of 12 key performance factors. In addition, McKesson has maintained a 96% or better customer support satisfaction score for the past three years on independently administered surveys.

"On behalf of our management team, I congratulate CMH on its pursuit of clinical excellence," said Tom Horton, chief process officer of McKesson Provider Technologies. "McKesson's success depends on satisfied customers who continue to have confidence in us as trusted partners. From the technology delivery phase to ongoing customer support, McKesson's commitment to customer success enables our nation's healthcare system to leverage technology to make healthcare safer."
