CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - June 14, 2013) - MCPc, a nationwide technology consulting and integration firm, has worked with the Cleveland Convention Center and Global Center for Health Innovation in creating end-to-end solutions to provide functionality and a best-in-class convention experience.
MCPc has partnered with the Global Center for Health Innovation since 2011, providing consultative information technology guidance and planning. MCPc's involvement was integral to enabling the Global Center's leadership to come to a consensus on technology and net business vision. The Global Center then worked with MCPc to obtain the physical infrastructure, implementation, and ongoing management services. MCPc is excited about the bar set for convention centers, and what it means for Cleveland specifically.
"This is remarkable for Cleveland, and really for the healthcare industry," said Michael Riley, MCPc's Director of Healthcare, "it validates what Cleveland's been working on for a long time." Mr. Riley went on to explain that with the seismic shift in healthcare towards emerging technologies like telehealth and doctor/patient collaboration, the Global Center "accelerates the growth and prominence of Cleveland's No. 1 export: the caring of people. This makes a huge impact in the region and in the industry."
MCPc's partnership with the Global Center is one of many, including: GE Healthcare, the Cleveland Clinic, University Hospitals, MetroHealth, the Sisters of Charity, Case Western Reserve University, Johnson Controls, H.I.M.S.S., and Cuyahoga County.
Darin Haines, MCPc's Chief Technology Officer and Senior Vice President of Consulting Services, has led MCPc's solution team. Mr. Haines, along with Dominic Del Balso, MCPc's Vice President - Advanced Technologies Group, guided the I.T. vision and implementation, recognizing the consumers' ideas and needs. MCPc's Anyplace Workspace coincides perfectly with the needs of the next-generation convention-goer. "It's pretty incredible," Mr. Haines explained, "for example, we've designed a ruggedized wireless network, able to cope with a sold-out convention crowd, and enable the best experience possible. If I wanted to host a video conference from the showroom floor during peak expo time, I could do that." Mr. Haines went on to explain that today's convention attendees expect a higher level of performance.
MCPc, a Gold Solutions Provider with Cisco, implemented Cisco Unified Communications for collaboration and Clean Air technologies for wireless. Cisco Nexus, a next-generation switching technology, is used at the infrastructure's core, along with Cisco ASA Firewalls for security. There are dual systems in place for redundancy and outage.
"We are looking forward to working with the Convention Center in providing managed services, to ensure that this facility remains world-class as technology develops," Mr. Haines said.
Bill L'Esperance, MCPc's Vice President of State and Local Government and Education shepherded the project for MCPc. "This is a perfect example of private and civic partnership -- and the degree of advanced technologies in one space will dictate how convention centers will be perceived in the future." Mr. L'Esperance went on to applaud the work of the MCPc engineers and architects who worked on the project. "It redefined a 'team' for us," he remarked. "We were thrilled to implement such significant combinations of technology."
The ribbon cutting for the Cleveland Convention Center and Global Center for Health Innovation is scheduled to occur Friday, June 14th, 2013. For more information about MCPc and this project, please visit www.mcpc.com.
