CLEVELAND, OH--(Marketwired - May 06, 2014) - MCPc, a nationwide technology consultancy and integrator headquartered in Cleveland, OH, has announced its selection as one of 7 partners chosen to work with the Ohio Academic Resource Network (OARnet) and its members. OARnet provides technology solutions for Ohio's education, public broadcasting, health care and government communities.
In 2013, VMware and the Ohio Board of Regents Technology Consortium, of which OARnet is a member, renewed their partnership to provide significant discounts on virtualization software licenses and maintenance. That renewal is projected to generate $3 million in direct savings and $12 million in indirect savings for its partners over the next four years. Today, OARnet announced its selection of an elite group of technology partners to provide virtualization, cloud, and end-user products.
"MCPc was a natural choice by OARnet due to its longstanding partnership, and considers this to be a continued extension of an already positive relationship," said Mike Riley, vice president of MCPc. "MCPc holds all VMware competencies, specializations, and more than 150 sales and technical certifications. As a VMware Premier Solution Provider - one of the few in the region with extensive certifications - MCPc can continue to help OARnet service educational, government, and related health care industries." Riley continued. Riley referred to MCPc's specific certifications alongside its VMware Premier Solution Provider status, specifically: VMware EUC Focus Partner; vCHS Hybrid Cloud Partner; VMware Managed Focus Partner Initiative around vSOM, vCOPS and vCAC.
"This program will help Ohio's public sector adoption of cloud and mobile technologies, keeping Ohio's reputation as a technology leader," said Michael Heiss, partner business manager, VMware. "MCPc's Anyplace Workspace® is a perfect example on how virtualization is going to change the way the public sector works, and we are very excited to support their efforts. OARnet and the Ohio Board of Regents made the right choice in selecting MCPc," Heiss continued.
MCPc spokespeople identified a palpable excitement among technicians at the potential in working with OARnet, in regards to the growth of efficiency and the proliferation of virtualization. MCPc's business areas also involve license management and managed services, both of which bring added value and further protect the investment by the State of Ohio. More information about OARnet and how MCPc will be contributing to the efficiencies of Ohio's state and local government, education, and healthcare can be found at mcpc.com.
