SUNRISE, FL--(Marketwired - July 22, 2016) - MDLIVE, the nation's leader in the rapidly growing virtual health market, is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Sanjay Patil as Executive Vice President and General Manager of Health Systems Strategy and Transformation. In his new role, Dr. Patil will lead an experienced team of healthcare and technology professionals with responsibility to provide client engagement, system transformation and ongoing change management, with MDLIVE's industry leading virtual care technology.
"The recent progress of MDLIVE's technology breakthroughs has been incredible," Dr. Patil said. "We now lead the telehealth industry by transforming from virtual urgent care, to comprehensive Virtual Care and systematic quality improvement. This can only be accomplished by providing deep integration of our virtual care technology platform into the daily workflow of our Health System and Health Plan partners. Providers will never use a solution that is not integrated into their existing workflow. Our virtual care technology platform provides the foundation for supporting care coordination services around transitions in care, gap closure, and ACO/HEDIS measure improvement."
Dr. Patil brings more than 20 years of experience in clinical practice, hospital administration, physician/hospital joint venture development, and quality management. He completed his cardiology fellowship at Beth Israel-Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, and received his master's in Clinical Research and Biostatistics. His published research and clinical trial interest includes the use of machine learning to identify patients at risk for adverse clinical events, and his work with hospital readmission reduction programs has used predictive models, biometric monitoring, and EMR workflow/clinical decision support to significantly lower heart failure readmissions. He brings extensive EMR data model, workflow, and implementation experience to the MDLIVE family.
