MDN Identifies Three Large Exploration Targets on Samaqua

MONTREAL, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - Oct. 15, 2014) - MDN Inc. (TSX:MDN) (the "Company") is pleased to report that it has identified multiple exploration targets on its wholly-owned Samaqua property north of Girardville in the Saguenay-Lac-Saint-Jean region of Quebec, Canada. The Company announced the start of an exploration program on the property on August 19, 2014.

The three targets identified consist of:

  1. A circular magnetic anomaly (called "Samaqua") that was confirmed and delineated by a high definition magnetic survey; the anomaly, which lies at the southern end of the property, 23 km southeast of the Crevier deposit and 130 km northwest of the Niobec mine, is a circular magnetic geophysical response with a halo of high magnetic intensity surrounding a low-intensity core, similar to that associated with the Niobec Inc.'s niobium mine.
  2. A K-Th-U radiometry anomaly detected midway between the Crevier deposit and the Samaqua circular anomaly, which could be the geophysical signature of an alkaline intrusive that cuts through the Grenville Formation, like the Crevier and Niobec intrusives.
  3. A magnetic lineament associated with the Crevier dyke, extending toward the southeast of the deposit; it is interpreted as the extension of the structure associated with the Crevier niobium-tantalum-bearing dyke, which suggests potential for a southeastern extension of the dyke, and crosses the entire property, including the two anomalies mentioned above.

The geophysics program consisted of a spectrometry survey, a time-domain electromagnetic survey (AeroTEM IV) and a high-definition magnetic survey totalling 935 km, on lines spaced at 150 m.

An induced-polarization ground geophysical survey now underway, which will be completed in November, is aimed at defining drill targets on these three exploration targets.

Marc Boisvert, an engineering geologist and the qualified person as defined in National Instrument 43-101, has reviewed and approved the technical and scientific content of this press release.
