Media Advisory: 10th annual Eugene Melnyk Skate for Kids to take place on Monday, Dec. 16

Ottawa Senators owner to host more than 100 local children at Canadian Tire Centre

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 14, 2013) - For the 10th consecutive season, Ottawa Senators (@Senators) owner Eugene Melnyk (@MelnykEugene) will host local children at Canadian Tire Centre as part of the 10th annual Eugene Melnyk Skate for Kids. This year's event, which will feature more than 100 children enjoying a once-in-a-lifetime skating experience, will take place on Monday, Dec. 16, from noon to 2 p.m.

Melnyk, along with Max Keeping, Spartacat and members of the Ottawa Senators alumni, will present each participant with early Christmas presents, including a Senators jersey, a helmet and a brand new pair of skates - all donated by Melnyk.

Who: Eugene Melnyk, owner, Ottawa Senators Hockey Club and Canadian Tire Centre; Max Keeping, CTV Ottawa's Ambassador to the Community; more than 100 local children; Senators alumni and Spartacat, Ottawa Senators' mascot and ambassador of fun.

When: Monday, Dec. 16, noon. to 2 p.m.

Where: Canadian Tire Centre, media are asked to use Gate 3 for access into the building.

Media opportunity:

Noon: Eugene Melnyk and Max Keeping will welcome the children at lower Gate 2.

12:50 p.m.: Skate begins. During the skate, Melnyk will be available for additional photos and interviews with media representatives at approximately 1 p.m.
