OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 7, 2008) - Canada has medaled at ten straight IIHF World Junior Championships including four consecutive gold medal performances in 2005, 2006, 2007 and 2008, silver medals in 1999, 2002, 2003 and 2004, and bronze medals in 2000 and 2001.

The National Junior Team development camp is the first step in a process that Hockey Canada follows to name Canada's National Junior Team roster in December. Following this July camp, Hockey Canada will continue to monitor and evaluate these players and other eligible players in the CHL, as well as in the junior and college ranks in Canada and the U.S.A.

What: The coaching staff of Canada's 2009 National Junior Team will be available to the media ahead of the team's July 25-30 development camp. In addition, details of the camp, to be held at the University of Ottawa, will also be released.
