MEDIA ADVISORY: 2014 Canada Day at Canada Place


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - June 26, 2014) - Media are invited to the 2014 Canada Day at Canada Place celebration, featuring 20 performers on three stages, interactive displays, an artisanal market, logger sports, street hockey, food trucks and a Citizenship ceremony. Following the daytime festival is the Canada Day Parade and the Coast Capital Savings Fireworks Show at Canada Place.

There will be plenty of Canadian content, photo, video and interview opportunities from day time activities through evening fireworks. The Citizenship ceremony also provides a moving human interest opportunity, with 60 people becoming Canadian on Canada Day.

In 2013, over 250,000 people attended the daytime festivities, 300,000 watched the parade, and over 400,000 viewed the two-barge simultaneous fireworks show.
