MEDIA ADVISORY: 2014 Canada Day at Canada Place Citizenship Ceremony


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - June 25, 2014) - Media are invited to the 2014 Canada Day at Canada Place Citizenship ceremony where 60 people from 36 different places of origin will become new Canadians.

On Canada Day in 2014, 46 citizenship ceremonies and reaffirmation ceremonies are being held across Canada. Approximately 2,300 people will become new Canadian citizens.

In 2013, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) held 1,722 ceremonies and 128,996 people became Canadian citizens. We invite you to join in the largest celebration of Canada Day outside of our nation's capital and to participate in this citizenship ceremony.
