Media Advisory: 8th annual Scotiabank Walk, Roll and Run for Roger's House Presented by the Ottawa Citizen to take place June 19

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 17, 2011) - - The Sens Foundation will hold the eighth annual Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House presented by the Ottawa Citizen on Sunday, June 19, at Scotiabank Place.

What: This year's Scotiabank Walk, Roll & Run for Roger's House presented by the Ottawa Citizen will feature the Irving Oil Tot-Trot, 2km PwC route and 5km Enterprise route. Event festivities include the Nordion Family Fun Zone, located a Gate 1 of Scotiabank Place, as well as an array of activities for participants and families, including the Sens Street Tour, face painting, balloon artists, the Ottawa therapy dogs, live entertainment and much more.

Event schedule:

8 a.m. – registration opens

9 a.m. – welcoming remarks

9:25 a.m. – Release of 67 doves to commemorate Roger's House fifth anniversary and the children that have passed away

9:30 a.m. – Spartacat stretch

9:45 a.m. – Irving Oil Tot-Trot, 2km PwC and 5km Enterprise routes

10 a.m. – Nordion Family Fun Zone opens

Noon – event concludes

Who: Senators defenceman Matt Carkner and forward Chris Neil, Sens Foundation president Danielle Robinson, Roger's House executive director Lloyd Cowin, Scotiabank vice-president Emily Farrell, family members of Roger's Dream Team and Senators in-game public address announcer Stuntman Stu.

When: Sunday, June 19, starting at 9 a.m.

Where: Scotiabank Place, Gate 1

The Sens Foundation has made a long-term commitment to cover a portion of the annual operating costs for Roger's House. Walk, Roll & Run. This event provides an opportunity to get involved and support the Sens Foundation, while making an important and lasting contribution to countless children and their families who receive care at Roger's House.
