Media Advisory: 9th Edition of the Educator's Conference

LONGUEUIL, QUÉBEC--(Marketwire - Aug. 9, 2011) - The 9th edition of the Canadian Space Agency's (CSA) annual Space Educator Training Event will be held August 9 to 11, 2011 at the John H. Chapman Space Centre in Longueuil, Quebec.

During three days, 150 educators from across Canada will have the opportunity to explore space-related topics. The content discussed during the sessions is curriculum-relevant at the primary and secondary levels. The workshops are hosted by CSA engineers and scientists. Astronaut Chris Hadfield will do the keynote address on August 9 at 1:15 p.m. (via videoconference from Russia).

Since the first edition of this conference in 2002, more than 1000 teachers across the country had the chance to attend. Following their participation, the educators go back to their classrooms and pass on their knowledge to their students.

Media representatives who are interested in interviews with the Manager of the program, Marilyn Steinberg, are invited to contact the Media relations' team.
