MS Society of Canada and The Centre for Drug Research and Development partner to focus on MS research

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - Feb. 24, 2014) - This document corrects and replaces the media advisory that was sent on February 21, 2014 at 13:18 PM EST.

The Multiple Sclerosis Society of Canada and The Centre for Drug Research and Development (CDRD) will announce they are accelerating the pace of Canadian research in multiple sclerosis by partnering to transform promising research discoveries into MS therapies to help people affected by the disease.

WHAT: Karen Lee and Karimah Es Sabar will announce a partnership between the MS Society and CDRD in translating academic health research into potential new therapies for people living with MS.
Member of Parliament Mark Warawa will speak to Canada's commitment to science and technology, and to ensuring that we leverage federal investment in basic research into new therapeutic outcomes.
Deputy Minister John Jacobson will speak about the societal and economic value of translational research and innovation for British Columbia (BC) and Canada, as well as the BC government's investment in CDRD to bring national and international investment and cutting-edge research in the province.
