GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwired - June 17, 2014) - Canadian Heritage invites the media to participate in the celebrations of Canada's 147th birthday on July 1. A Canada Day vehicle-circulation pass is required to access closed streets in Ottawa and Gatineau, and accreditation is required to access the designated media areas on Parliament Hill for both the noon and evening shows.

To obtain accreditation and vehicle-circulation passes, please contact Collin Lafrance, Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery, at Collin.Lafrance@parl.gc.ca. Deadline: June 27, 2014.

Passes may be picked up at 150 Wellington Street, Room 607, on Monday, June 30, 2014.

For vehicle-circulation passes, members of the media will need to provide the driver's name and cellular phone number, type of vehicle and license plate number.

IMPORTANT WARNING: All camera positions in the designated media areas will be equipped with a hardwired audio program feed.
Canadian Heritage complies with and abides by Industry Canada regulations on the use of wireless frequencies. The use of wireless equipment (i.e. microphones, cameras, intercom systems) impeding or interfering with Canadian Heritage's pre-authorized frequency channels will not be permitted on Parliament Hill on June 30 and July 1, 2014.
Media wishing to use wireless equipment are strongly encouraged to validate their frequency channels with Collin Lafrance, Canadian Parliamentary Press Gallery, at Collin.Lafrance@parl.gc.ca and to verify that their equipment operates within those designated channels.
