Media Advisory: Accreditation Now Open for G8 Development Ministers Meeting

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(Marketwire - April 1, 2010) - The Minister of International Development of Canada, the Honourable Beverley J Oda, will host a meeting of G8 Ministers responsible for international development on April 26-28, 2010 at Pier 21 - Canada's Immigration Museum, 1055 Marginal Road, Halifax Nova Scotia.

Media representatives planning to cover these meetings must be registered, accredited and hold a valid G8 media identification badge to have access to the facilities. Accreditation is open to all bona fide news organizations.

Freelance media representatives must be sponsored by a recognized news organization and attach a letter of assignment from the Director/Editor-in-Chief of the media organization, on official letterhead and duly signed. Please also note that the letter file format should be JPEG or PDF.

For accreditation purposes, all media representatives are requested to complete the registration form ($file/Media%20Accreditation%20Form-en.doc) before April 19, 2010.

Accreditation confirmation will be issued only after a screening performed by the Canadian government.

On-site registration will also be available in the Media Centre for the G8 Development Ministers meeting (Harbourside Gallery, Pier 21, 1055 Marginal Road, Halifax, Nova Scotia, B3H 4P6).

ID badges will be available for collection beginning at 07:30, Tuesday, April 27 in the Harbourside Gallery.
