MEDIA ADVISORY: AIDS Committee of Toronto to Launch HIV Anonymous Campaign

HIV Anonymous and the Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life Raise Funds for Local Services and Programming and Increase HIV/AIDS Awareness in Canada

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - July 13, 2015) - Members of the AIDS services community are inviting the media on July 14, 2015, at 10:00 a.m. at the Scotiabank Theatre in Toronto to announce the launch of the HIV Anonymous campaign in anticipation of the 20th annual Scotiabank AIDS Walk for Life, a national fundraising and awareness movement taking place in 38 communities across Canada. This year, the event will take place from Saturday, September 12 to Sunday, September 20.

The HIV Anonymous campaign captures the isolation, stigma, and manifold forms of discrimination those affected by HIV/AIDS face on a daily basis. This platform gives a voice to Canadians who are living with HIV/AIDS, allowing them to share their stories while retaining their confidentiality. These stories will be used to educate the public about the realities of living with HIV in 2015.
