Media Advisory: Alberta Point-in-Time Count of Homelessness Preliminary Report to Be Released


CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Nov. 20, 2014) - On Friday, November 21, the Calgary Homeless Foundation (CHF) along with Edmonton, Grand Prairie, The Regional Municipality of Wood Buffalo, Lethbridge, Medicine Hat and Red Deer will release preliminary data collected during the province-wide Point-in-Time Count, the first ever multi-city Point-in-Time Homeless Count in Alberta. The province wide count was part of an initiative led by the 7 Cities on Housing and Homelessness (7 Cities) in collaboration with the Canadian Observatory on Homelessness to develop a harmonized approach to homeless counts nationally. Among key findings to be addressed are the successes of Calgary's Plan to End Homelessness during continued high in-migration and lack of affordable housing in the city.
