Why:

The Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon is growing rapidly into an International-class marathon with a best-ever elite field in 2005, record international participation and a wonderful, community-based fundraiser. The Scotiabank Charity Challenge, part of the STWM, helps over 40 recognized charities raise money by collecting pledges from marathon, half-marathon and 5K participants without the cost of organizing their own event. The Scotiabank Charity Challenge is a great opportunity for Torontonians to get out and be active for a good cause while promoting a healthy and active city. Toronto's premier running event and charity challenge is expected to exceed last year's numbers and bring out more than 10,000 runners of all levels and elite athletes from over 30 countries and 40 American states. Whether you walk the 5K route or are attempting your first marathon or half-marathon on Canada's flattest, fastest waterfront course, the Scotiabank Toronto Waterfront Marathon, Half-Marathon & 5K Run/Walk gives everyone a reason to participate. /For further information: Scotiabank Public Affairs
