Ambassador of Goodwill to present the ABCs of Bullying Prevention

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 7, 2013) - Now in his 11th season with the Harlem Globetrotters, Anthony 'Buckets' Blakes will visit the Boys and Girls Club of Ottawa, on Monday, April 8, at 5 p.m. Buckets' appearance in Ottawa comes three days in advance of the Globetrotters April 11 game at Scotiabank Place.

Who: Harlem Globetrotter and Ambassador of Goodwill Anthony 'Buckets' Blakes

What: Buckets, the Globetrotters' ball-handling wizard and four-point shot specialist, will be speaking to a group of children and youth at the Britannia Clubhouse about the team's ABCs of Bullying Prevention program, which focuses on Action, Bravery and Compassion.

During his visit, Buckets will discuss the three key words in the ABCs and various tools that can be used on a daily basis to reduce bullying in our community. He will equate what it means to be part of a team to how the participants can offer support to one another to help stop bullying.

The important message of bullying and violence prevention will be conveyed with participation from the boys and girls at Britannia Clubhouse, which will also incorporate the Globetrotters' signature ball-handling skills and humour into a well-balanced program designed to inform and entertain.
