OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 25, 2013) - On Friday, April 26, the Canadian Labour Congress, in conjunction with the Common Causes coalition, is organizing a demonstration at the constituency office of Conservative MP Devinder Shory to draw attention to the disastrous cutbacks made to Employment Insurance by the Harper government.
Similar events will occur at the offices of other Members of Parliament serving on the House of Commons Standing Committee on Human Resources, which is responsible for reviewing EI issues. These activities will occur in parallel with a major Employment Insurance event organized in downtown Montreal by a coalition in Quebec on April 27.
These events will launch a Week of Action to protest against the harmful changes to EI and the Conservative government's austerity agenda.
