Media Advisory: Archaeological Recovery in Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 14, 2012) -

Further to the announcement of the US Joint POW-MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) arriving on location in Longue-Pointe-de-Mingan to recover and repatriate human remains presumed to be inside the wreckage of a U.S. Army Air Force, Parks Canada would like to inform media that Mr. Marc-André Bernier, chief of the Underwater Archaeological Service, will be available to answer questions regarding this operation.

Mr. Bernier has dove on the wreckage many times to study the site and has extensive expertise on this topic.

Upon request, Parks Canada will provide images and video coverage of the wreckage.
