Media Advisory: Army Reserve to Conduct 13km March Through City's Hub Trial

SAULT STE MARIE, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - May 22, 2014) - In celebration of Artillery Day (May 24, 2014) the 49th Field Regiment, Sault Ste. Marie, will conduct a 13 km Rucksack March through the city's John Roswell Hub Trail. The march will end at Bellevue Park where the Regiment will host an event for family and friends.

When: May 24, 2014
March will take place from 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Family event will begin at 1 p.m.
Where: The march will follow the Hub Trail, beginning on Third Line, west of Great Northern Road at the end of Industrial Park Crescent. The march will head west along the Hub Trail, through town, and end at Bellevue Park.
The Family event will take place at the picnic area of Bellevue Park.
What: Soldiers will carry a full combat load of gear and equipment in excess of 50 lbs during their trek through the Hub Trail. The march will be completed within 2 hours and 26 minutes, as prescribed by the Canadian Army's Battle Fitness Test standard.
