Media Advisory: British Columbia Employers, Educators to Receive Awards for Support to Military Reservists

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - Feb. 23, 2011) - Media are invited to an awards ceremony at The Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Armoury, Thursday, February 24, 2011, at 2 p.m. (PST), where the Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC) will formally recognize 13 Metro Vancouver civilian employers and educational institutions that have granted Canadian Forces (CF) reservist employees and students military leave for training or deployments.

When: February 24, 2 p.m., Pacific Time.

Where: The Officers Mess of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada Armoury, at 1650 Burrard Street.

What: The Canadian Forces Liaison Council (CFLC) British Columbia Employer Support Awards Ceremony.

Who: Mr. Scott Shepherd, B.C. Chair of the CFLC, and Commodore David Craig, Commander of the Canadian Naval Reserve, will preside over the ceremony. The Deputy Commander of 39 Canadian Brigade Group, Lieutenant-Colonel Romano Acconci, will also attend.
