Media Advisory: Calgary Food Bank's Baby Room Welcomes Largest Donation to Date

CALGARY, ALBERTA--(Marketwire - June 7, 2012) - Baby Gourmet is donating almost 29,000 packages of Baby Gourmet food to the Calgary Food Bank on Friday June 8th. The largest baby food donation this Food Bank has received in memory!

Returning to where it all began, Baby Gourmet co-founder Jennifer Broe says it`s time to give back to the community that helped her get started.

Only six years ago, Jennifer Broe was selling homemade baby food at the Calgary Farmers' Market. With babies of her own, Jennifer struggled to find great tasting baby food that was also nutritious and organic. So she pulled out her mixing bowls and got down to the business of filling that gap!

Every child, regardless of their family`s income, deserves a strong start in life; and nutritious, delicious food choices are an important building block. Last year the Calgary Food Bank handed out 5,361 Baby Hampers. A Baby Hamper is attached to the Emergency Food Hamper of any Calgary Food Bank client with a child younger than 3 years, and includes formula, baby food, and diapers.
