Media Advisory: Canada and UN Women co-host Conference on Women's Economic Empowerment

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 30, 2011) - Canada and UN Women are co-hosting the Conference on Women's Economic Empowerment in Ottawa from October 3 to 5, 2011. The Conference will be opened by the Honourable Beverley J. Oda, Minister of International Cooperation, and UN Women Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director, Michelle Bachelet.

The Conference will focus on ways of opening economies to the full participation of women and on the tools needed for women to take advantage of and benefit from these economic opportunities. The results of the Conference will drive the activities and planning of the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) and UN Women.
