Media Advisory: Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman Releases Special Report on the Tax-Free Savings Account

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Aug. 4, 2011) - Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman, Mr. J. Paul Dubé, will release his special report, "Knowing the Rules" on August 8, 2011. The report addresses the confusion that arose over the rules governing the Tax-Free Savings Account (TFSA).

Mr. Dubé's report recommends how the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) can improve the accessibility of information surrounding the TFSA to help ensure the CRA provides the highest level of service to taxpayers.

The Taxpayers' Ombudsman investigates emerging and systemic service issues related to CRA programs and processes and makes recommendations to improve service to Canadians.
