Media Advisory: Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman Visits Sudbury on National Outreach Tour

SUDBURY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 31, 2011) - Canada's Taxpayers' Ombudsman, Mr. J. Paul Dubé, will visit Sudbury this week as part of his national outreach tour. Mr. Dubé is scheduled to speak at the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce on June 3, 2011.

Re-appointed in February 2011 for a second term, Mr. Dubé's mandate is to ensure that all Canadians receive fair treatment and professional service from the CRA by upholding the service rights in the Taxpayer Bill of Rights. In addition, the Taxpayers' Ombudsman identifies and analyzes systemic issues regarding CRA's service delivery.

This week Mr. Dubé will speak to members of the Greater Sudbury Chamber of Commerce, visit the CRA Sudbury Tax Services Office, and conduct media interviews.

The tour will give Mr. Dubé an opportunity to consult with stakeholders and to hear comments that could help identify current or emerging service-related issues that may have a negative impact on Canadian taxpayers.
