Media Advisory: Canadian Adventure Racers Raise Money for Local and Global Cause

THE LAND ROVER G4 CHALLENGE KICKS OFF ONE OF THE WORLD'S TOP OFF-ROAD DRIVING AND ADVENTURE EVENTS

BRAMALEA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 11, 2008) -

WHAT: Land Rover Canada will be conducting its 2008/09 Land Rover G4 Challenge Canadian National Selections in cooperation with the existing Quest for a Cure Adventure Race, a not-for-profit organization raising funds for the support of cancer research in Canada.

Held every two years with national selection events taking place in 18 countries around the world, co-ed teams (one male and one female) will compete in a variety of adventure sports including kayaking, mountain biking, and off-road driving that test team spirit and physical fitness. The top two teams will then move on to the international selections, where one man and one woman will be chosen to represent Canada against 17 other countries in the three-week long Challenge Finals starting in Mongolia in 2009.

WHEN: National Selections for Canada will take place in June 20-22, 2008

Event Start:

Friday June 20 - 4 PM Pistol Start
Long Course: 200km over 48 hours

Saturday June 21 - 4 PM Pistol Start
Short Course: 100km over 24 hours

Sunday June 22 - 8 AM Pistol Start
Sprint Course: 35km over 8 hrs starting

WHERE: Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello home to the Land Rover Experience Driving School, on their sprawling 60,000 acre property.

For the first time in the event's history, the Land Rover G4 Challenge will raise funds for two world-class charity organizations: the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies. The competition will culminate with the donation of a Land Rover on behalf of the winning team to their country's national Red Cross or Red Crescent Society.
