Media Advisory/Canadian Environment Week: The Government of Canada's Launches a New Green Building in Montreal

GATINEAU, QUEBEC--(CCNMatthews - June 6, 2006) - During Canadian Environment Week, the Honourable Michael M Fortier, Minister of Public Works and Government Services, will attend on Friday the official opening of the new green federal building at 740 Bel-Air Street, in Montreal. He will also unveil the building's new name, which pays tribute to a pioneer of environmental issues in Quebec.

Minister Fortier will also take the opportunity to reiterate the Government of Canada's commitment to environmental activities. The Minister will speak about eco-efficient and green buildings, and the Policy on Green Procurement.

After the official ceremony, guided tours will be available for media representatives, which will highlight the eco-friendly technologies used in the construction of the building.
