Media Advisory: Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions Set to Release New Report and Is Available to Respond to Health Ministers' Meeting

ST. JOHN'S, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR--(Marketwire - Sept. 10, 2010) - Nursing leaders from across Canada will meet in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, on Monday September 13, 2010, at the same time Canada's health ministers are gathering there.

The Canadian Federation of Nurses Unions (CFNU) will be releasing a new report on nursing, Experts and Evidence: Opportunities in Nursing. This report considers some of the latest in nursing policy research while providing concrete examples of how education, innovation, safe staffing and healthy work environments contribute to better patient care and a more sustainable system.

A press conference is scheduled for Monday September 13, 2010, at 10:30 am local time at the Sheraton Newfoundland Hotel, Plymouth Room, 115 Cavendish Square, St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador.

CFNU president Linda Silas and the presidents of provincial nurses' unions will be present to respond to the health ministers' meeting and to discuss the report.

The report will be available on Monday September 13, 2010, on the CFNU website at www.nursesunions.ca.
