Media Advisory: Canadian Forces Artists Program Exhibit

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Nov. 7, 2011) - Media are invited to attend the biennial Canadian Forces Artists Program (CFAP) exhibit at the Cartier Square Drill Hall on Wednesday, November 9, 2011. Brigadier-General Matthew Overton, Director General Military Careers, will be in attendance and provide opening remarks at the event.

CFAP will be unveiling works of art created by five artists in the program from 2008-2009: Dick Averns (writing and photo-essay), Sharon McKay (writing), Erin Riley (photography), Suzanne Steele (poetry), and Althea Thauberger (photography, murals, and film).

WHEN: Wednesday, November 9, 2011
TIME: 9:45 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.
Opening Ceremonies will begin at 10:00 a.m. with an address by
Brigadier-General Overton.
WHERE: Cartier Square Drill Hall

Through CFAP, these artists visited CF troops in locations as diverse as Afghanistan, Egypt and the Canadian arctic, and produced exceptional art that represent the accomplishments of our men and women in uniform. The artists will be on location throughout the morning to meet with the media and speak about their experiences with CFAP and their art.
