Media Advisory: Canadian Forces at Grey Cup Festival Week

WINNIPEG, MANITOBA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 16, 2006) - The Canadian Forces is proudly supporting the Grey Cup Festival's key activities on November 18 and 19. Canadian Forces participation is as follows:



November 18

- Forks Parka Day

- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. - Navy, Army and Air Force personnel,
equipment, vehicles and recruiting information displays will be
set up in Market Plaza. Canadian Forces Snowbirds Air
Demonstration Team members will be present to meet the public
until 1 p.m. Weather permitting, the Air Command Band Six Piece
Dixieland Jazz Ensemble will also perform.

- 1:15 p.m. - SkyHawks Parachute Demonstration Team jump; Drop
Zone by Scotia Stage.

- Grey Cup Parade

- 3:50 p.m. - 2006 Grey Cup Parade includes a mix of light and
heavy military vehicles and an artillery gun tow, an aircraft
float, a naval float, as well as musical and personnel
elements.

- CF-18s and CC-130 Hercules will perform a fly past during the
parade.

November 19

- Canadian Forces Pre-Game Display - old Winnipeg Arena grounds

- 1 to 5 p.m. - A Canadian Forces Village showcasing Army, Navy
and Air Force equipment, personnel, and vehicles will be set up
for the public.

- 3:30 p.m. - Leopard Tank Charity Car Crush. Winner of the
charity draw will ride in the tank as it drives over a purged
car. Proceeds go to the Children's Hospital Foundation.

- 4 p.m. - SkyHawks Parachute Demonstration Team jump.

- Game Participation

- Royal Military College of Canada Colour Party carrying the
Canadian Flag and the Canadian Forces tri-service colours
during the National Anthem ceremony.

- Canadian Forces Snowbirds Demonstration Team will perform a fly
past during the National Anthem ceremony.

- C3-105 mm Howitzer artillery gun will fire a blank volley
marking each touchdown.

- Former CFL players who are now members of the Canadian Forces-
Sergeant Jason Kralt and Private Nigel Williams-will assist the
RCMP in escorting the Grey Cup to Victory Podium.
