OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 3, 2006) - The Honourable Greg Thompson, Minister of Veteran's Affairs, will give a speech on behalf of the Minister of Canadian Heritage, Beverley J. Oda, during the unveiling ceremony of the Valiants Memorial in Ottawa.

The Valiants Memorial is a collection of nine busts and five statues depicting individuals from critical periods of conflict in our nation's history, and a large bronze wall inscription that reads Nulla dies umquam memori vos eximet aevo (No day shall ever erase you from the memory of time). The Valiants Memorial was designed to reflect the fact that our military history has had a profound influence on the evolution of Canada.

The public is welcome to attend the unveiling ceremony. The event will be held rain or shine.
