Media Advisory/Canadian Labour Congress: British Columbia Scores a D- on Child Care, Working Parents to Rally at Provincial Legislature

VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - June 13, 2008) - This Saturday, working parents and child care workers will rally in front of the legislature in Victoria to demand a better performance from government when it comes to providing affordable, quality child care.

Confirmed speakers include Denise Savoie, MP (NDP-Victoria); Stephanie Seaman from the BCGEU & Child Care Advocates of BC; Michelle Kirby from Parents for Child Care; Maurine Karagianis, MLA and Rob Flemming, MLA. After the rally, there will be a parade from the Legislature to Irving Park for a family BBQ and performance by children's entertainer Norman Foote.
