Media Advisory/Canadian Labour Congress: Georgetti to Attend Solidarity Rally for Steelworkers in Sudbury

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Sept. 17, 2009) - Ken Georgetti, President of the Canadian Labour Congress, will attend a mass rally on Saturday, September 19 in support of members of the United Steelworkers on strike at the Vale Inco mines in Sudbury. He will be available for comments to the media.

The community day in solidarity with steelworkers and their families will feature union leaders representing Vale workers and miners from around the world.

Vale is a Brazilian multinational company that is demanding concessions from its workers in Sudbury. The company is profitable and has hiked its executive compensation dramatically in the past two years.
