Working parents to rally in front of Jim Flaherty's office in Whitby

WHITBY, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 13, 2008) - This Saturday, working parents and child care workers will rally in front of the constituency office of federal Finance Minister Jim Flaherty to demand a better performance from government when it comes to providing affordable, quality child care.

Confirmed speakers include: Barbara Byers, executive vice-president of the Canadian Labour Congress; Irene Harris, secretary-treasurer of the Ontario Federation of Labour; Carol Phillips, co-chair of the CLC Women's Committee, and Jenny Robinson, executive director of the Ontario Coalition for Better Child Care.

After the rally, there will be a family BBQ in nearby Cullen Gardens.
