Media Advisory: Canadian Pork Council Highlights Current Industry Crisis and Need for Government Action Now

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 11, 2007) - Canada's hog producers are facing an unprecedented financial crisis on the farm because of the high Canadian dollar and feed costs. The Canadian Pork Council, which represents 11,000 hog producers, are looking for a commitment before Christmas from the Government of Canada for short-term loan assistance to help avert this crisis.
