Media Advisory: Canadian Troops Return Home from Afghanistan

EDMONTON, ALBERTA--(Marketwired - Jan. 19, 2014) - Media are invited for the return of soldiers serving in Afghanistan to the Shell Aerocentre and Garrison Edmonton on January 20, 2014.

The soldiers will be landing in Canada after several months serving on Canada's final commitment to Operation ATTENTION, Canada's contribution to the International Assistance Force / NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan.

Blaine Calkins, Member of Parliament for Wetaskiwin, will be present to welcome the troops home as they disembark.

When: January 20, 2014, 8:00 p.m.

Where: Shell AeroCentre, Edmonton International Airport and the Edmonton Garrison's Lecture Training Facility

What: Canadian soldiers returning home after serving in Afghanistan, greeted by MP Blaine Calkins as they step off the plane.

Operation ATTENTION is Canada's participation in the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, which delivers training and professional development support to the national security forces of Afghanistan: the Afghan National Army, the Afghan Air Force, and the Afghan National Police.
