Media Advisory: Canadian Troops Return Home from Afghanistan


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Jan. 22, 2014) - Media are invited for the return of soldiers serving in Afghanistan to CFB Trenton on January 23, 2014.

The soldiers will be landing in Canada after several months serving on Canada's final commitment to Operation ATTENTION, Canada's contribution to the International Assistance Force / NATO Training Mission in Afghanistan.

Rick Norlock, Member of Parliament for Northumberland-Quinte West, will be present to welcome the troops home as they disembark.

When: January 23, 2014, 8:00 a.m. (time is subject to change)
Where: 8 Wing, CFB Trenton, Passenger Terminal, (off old Highway 2)
What: Canadian soldiers returning home after serving in Afghanistan, greeted by MP Rick Norlock as they step off the plane.

Operation ATTENTION is Canada's participation in the NATO Training Mission-Afghanistan, which delivers training and professional development support to the national security forces of Afghanistan: the Afghan National Army, the Afghan Air Force, and the Afghan National Police.
