Media Advisory: Candlelight Vigil for CUPE 966 Long Term Care Workers

BRAMPTON, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2010) - The Canadian Union of Public Employees (CUPE) Local 966 in Peel Region is staging a candlelight vigil to mark the 18th year anniversary of the pay equity fight for more than 700 women working for municipal Long Term Care (LTC) facilities, in Peel Region. CUPE Local 966 is looking for support in their fight for equal pay from their employer: the Regional Municipality of Peel.

The president of CUPE Local 966 and other guest will speak and light candles in front of the Head Office of the Region of Peel, 10 Peel Centre Drive, Brampton (South of Queen Street, behind the Bramalea City Centre).
