Media Advisory: Caribbean Feminist and Activist Flavia Cherry in Toronto for Labour Development Forum

Attention: Assignment Editor, Business/Financial Editor, News Editor, World News Editor, Government/Political Affairs Editor TORONTO--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 20, 2005) - Flavia Cherry, National Chairperson of the Caribbean Association for Feminist Research and Action (CAFRA) in St. Lucia is in Toronto to attend the Canadian Labour Congress' "On the Road to the Peoples' Summit" Labour Development Forum. At the forum, trade unionists from across Canada will discuss policies in preparation for the Third Peoples' Summit of the Americas coming up November 1-5, in Mar del Plata, Argentina.

The upcoming Third Peoples' Summit of the Americas will be the first such meeting since April 2001 in Quebec City, where labour, community and civil society groups had to meet outside a fenced perimeter.
