NEW YORK, NY--(Marketwire - March 25, 2008) - The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse at Columbia University will hold its 16th annual awards dinner, A Celebration of American Leadership in Combating Substance Abuse, on Thursday, March 27, 2008 at The Pierre, Fifth Avenue at 61st Street, New York City.

Honoree photo opportunity at 6:25 p.m. in the hotel's Regency Room.

CASA will present its Distinguished Service Award to Ronald A. Williams, chairman and CEO of Aetna Inc. for his corporate leadership in the healthcare industry and longstanding civic commitment to enhance health and educational resources in the community. CASA's Special Achievement Award will honor John J. Sweeney, president of the AFL-CIO, for his distinguished service on the CASA Board of Directors and the AFL-CIO's commitment to improving the lives of working families; and Thomas J. Donohue, president and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, for his longstanding support of CASA and the Chamber's leadership to support corporate America's economic and civic contributions to the community.

Among guests scheduled to attend the dinner are: Joseph A.
