Media Advisory: Centennial College Students Stay Up All Night for Mental Health

TORONTO, ON--(Marketwired - March 30, 2016) - Students at Centennial College's Story Arts Centre are holding Up All Night, a 12-hour event in solidarity with those who lose sleep on account of mental health issues. The event is part of CivicAction's focus on mental health in the workplace -- one of five issues of focus -- and seeks to promote dialogue surrounding mental health, particularly among millennials who are entering or have just entered the workplace.

Media are invited to attend any part of the event and interview student organizers of Up All Night.

Who: Students at Centennial College's Story Arts Centre, in partnership with CivicAction. The evening will include a panel discussion featuring experts from Bell and CivicAction, live music, dance performances and numerous stress-reducing activities.
When: March 31 at 7 p.m. to April 1 at 7 a.m.
Where: Centennial College's Story Arts Centre, 951 Carlaw Ave, Toronto, M4K 3M2
Why: To promote discussion surrounding mental health in the workplace, and work to end the stigma surrounding mental illness. Funds from the event will be used to fund a YellowIsForHello Friendship Bench and associated mental health awareness campaign, which will encourage more peer-to-peer conversations about mental health and connect those suffering in silence with available on- and off-campus support services. The bench will be installed at Centennial College's Story Arts Centre.
