Media Advisory: Change of Command for Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre Toronto

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - July 10, 2009) - Commodore Daniel MacKeigan, Commander, Canadian Forces Recruiting Group (CFRG), will appoint Major Hans Kissmann as the new Commanding Officer of the Canadian Forces Recruiting Centre (CFRC) Toronto. A change of command ceremony held at the centre.

Major Hans Kissmann, who served most recently with the CFRG Command Cell, Canadian Forces Base Borden, will assume the command of CFRC Toronto from Lieutenant-Commander Michael Wood, who has served as the Commanding Officer of the CFRC Toronto since July 2007. Over the past five years, CFRC Toronto has enrolled more than 1,200 people annually (regular and reserve) into over a hundred types of full and part-time positions in the Canadian Forces.
Media representatives will have the opportunity to interact with the Commodore, the outgoing and the newest Commanding Officer of Recruiting Centre. Media representatives will also have an opportunity to tour the Recruiting facilities after the ceremonies to better understand the steps involved in processing the newest members of the Military Family.
