MEDIA ADVISORY: CLC and CMA Joining Forces to Improve Retirement Security


WINDSOR, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Dec. 10, 2014) - The Canadian Labour Congress and the Canadian Medical Association are joining forces to work toward improving retirement security for all Canadians. CLC president Hassan Yussuff and CMA president Dr. Chris Simpson will be speaking at a press conference about why Canada needs a seniors' strategy. They will be joined by Marion Overholt, Executive Director of Legal Assistance of Windsor, and CLC researcher Mike Luff.

At 5:00 p.m. that same day, they will also be speaking at a public town hall meeting on retirement security. The CLC is partnering with retirees and seniors' groups across the country to raise awareness about Canada's retirement crisis and its call on government to double CPP benefits.
