OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - Dec. 14, 2011) - CLC President Ken Georgetti and Hassan Yussuff, CLC Secretary-Treasurer, will participate in an Afternoon Tea Talk on Retirement Security on December 18 in Victoria, British Columbia. The event, organized jointly by the CLC and the Victoria Labour Council, will coincide with a meeting of Canada's federal, provincial and territorial finance ministers.
The CLC, along with other labour, retiree and citizens' groups, continues to advocate for a phased-in doubling of CPP benefits as the best solution to Canada's retirement income crisis. CLC officers and representatives of other groups will be on hand in Victoria, urging the finance ministers to move ahead on CPP reform.
