Media Advisory: CLC Observers at Conservative Party Convention Will be Available for Comment to Media


OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - Oct. 31, 2013) - The Canadian Labour Congress will have registered observers at the Conservative Party of Canada convention in Calgary between October 31 and November 2.

The CLC's spokesperson is Ferne Downey, a General Vice-President of the CLC and the President of ACTRA. She will be available for comment to the media.

Delegates to the convention will have a chance to debate several resolutions that relate to the labour movement and the rights of Canadians to organize and bargain collectively. Ms. Downey will be available to discuss what the outcome of various resolutions will mean for workers and their unions.

The Canadian Labour Congress, the national voice of the labour movement, represents 3.3 million Canadian workers. The CLC brings together Canada's national and international unions along with the provincial and territorial federations of labour and 130 district labour councils.
