Media Advisory/CMA President Will Speak at British Columbia Medical Association's Annual Meeting on Saturday

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(CCNMatthews - June 10, 2005) - Canadian Medical Association (CMA) President Dr. Albert Schumacher, will address members of the British Columbia Medical Association at its Annual Meeting on Saturday in Vancouver.

Dr. Schumacher will speak about the Supreme Court of Canada's decision in the Chaoulli case striking down Quebec's prohibition that banned the use of private health insurance. He will also highlight the work of the Wait Time Alliance, that recently released medical benchmarks for medically-acceptable wait times in the 5 priority areas identified by the First Ministers last September.
