Media Advisory - Conservative Leader Stephen Harper to speak at Fraser Institute event in Calgary

CALGARY, April 26 - Stephen Harper, Leader, Conservative Party of
Canada, will deliver The Fraser Institute's annual Dr. Harold Walter Siebens
lecture in Calgary on Friday, April 29. He will address current economic and
public policy issues.
In March of 2002, Stephen Harper was elected Leader of the Canadian
Alliance. Mr. Harper was sworn in as Leader of the Official Opposition on
May 21, 2002. In October 2003, he signed an agreement in principle with
Progressive Conservative Party Leader Peter MacKay to create the Conservative
Party of Canada. In March 2004, Stephen Harper was elected leader of the
merged Conservative Party of Canada and became leader of the Official
Opposition in the House of Commons.
