Media Advisory: Court Martial Proceedings For Senior Canadian Forces Officer

OTTAWA, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - May 21, 2010) - Standing Court Martial proceedings will take place on May 25, 2010, at the Asticou Centre in Gatineau, Québec, for Brigadier-General Daniel Menard, Commander Joint Task Force Afghanistan, in relation to an incident on March 25, 2010, when his personal weapon discharged. 

Brig.-Gen. Menard is charged with one count of Neglect to the Prejudice of Good Order and Discipline contrary to section 129 of the National Defence Act.
